We are excited to share the 2026 Winter Aficionado Allocation!

As winter folds itself around the valley, we wanted to offer you something that carries a sense of reflection and quiet celebration. This collection was hand-selected by Cody and Marque from the Purple Hands library, gathered from vineyards that have shaped our work and our understanding of this place. Each bottle holds a bit of history, a bit of memory, and a thread of the land that raised it.

The Kropf Vineyard sits at the heart of this offering. The land belongs to Michelle and Jody Kropf — familiar faces to many of you through Red Hills Market, a gathering place woven into Dundee’s daily rhythm. Though it’s their property, we’ve tended those vines for many years, learning their moods, their seasons, and their steady generosity. It’s a partnership that feels rooted in trust and community, and the wines always seem to carry that spirit.

The other vineyard sites in this allocation come from some of the valley’s early stories — places that helped define what Oregon Pinot Noir could be long before it was widely understood. Time has settled into those vines, and you can feel it in the quiet depth they bring to every vintage.

Thank you for being part of this small circle of members who walk this journey with us. As the cold months arrive, we hope these wines bring warmth, connection and a sense of something treasured — whether you open them now by the glow of a fire or let them rest for the seasons still to come.

Warmly,
The Wrights

  • Barron-Wahl is a quietly special site in the Chehalem Mountains, perched around 800 feet on a southeast-facing slope of classic Jory soil. These volcanic hillsides naturally lend lift, structure, and an earthy depth to Pinot Noir.

This 2014 comes from 100% Pommard planted to own-rooted vines now over 45 years old, giving the wine a sense of maturity and calm confidence. It’s a bottling that speaks more about place than power, layered, grounded, and unmistakably Chehalem Mountains.

  • Holstein Vineyard is a classic Dundee Hills site, rooted in deep red Jory soil at roughly 800 feet with a mix of southeast and southwest exposure. That combination of elevation, aspect, and volcanic soil gives the fruit both ripeness and lift, hallmarks of great Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.

The 2017 bottling blends 115 and 777 clones, with the older 35-year-old 777 vines bringing depth and texture, and the 15-year-old 115 adding brightness and precision. Together, they produce a wine that feels balanced and expressive, with layered red fruit, gentle earth, and a sense of place that’s unmistakably Dundee Hills.

  • 2017 Purple Hands Lone Oak Ranch Pinot Noir blends fruit from some of the Willamette Valley’s standout sites across Yamhill-Carlton, Dundee Hills, and Mount Pisgah AVAs. These regions each bring a different voice: Yamhill-Carlton’s older marine sedimentary soils and sun-soaked slopes give concentrated dark fruit and spice; Dundee Hills’ classic red Jory soils add structure and savory depth; and Mount Pisgah’s diverse loam and volcanic influences contribute warmth and balance.

In this vintage, Purple Hands layers select blocks from Shea (777), Freedom Hill (Pommard and Wadenswil), Holstein (115), and Stoller (777), creating a Pinot Noir that’s both rich and finely tuned. The mix of clonal textures and varied hillside exposure gives the wine depth of fruit, gentle spice, and a smooth, lingering finish that reflects the varied soils and microclimates of these celebrated Oregon AVAs.
